ACPMR will integrate the European Mine the Gap project that will start in September of this year 2020.
The project, which has over 10 organizations from Spain, France, Italy Germany, Poland, Bulgaria and Finland, consists of creating and integrating new value chains in SMEs in the Mineral Resources and mining sector through information and communication technologies , circular economy and support for efficient management of production processes.
In fact, our society is not aware of the importance of mineral raw materials and comes to have a negative view on the concept of mining, strongly related to the use of outdated and less environmentally friendly methods and technologies. This is particularly relevant for SMEs, which are unable to keep pace with large companies and therefore suffer from a lack of innovation, intersectoral fertilization and the potential for disruption. The Mine the Gap project arises, precisely to support SMEs to promote and accelerate investments to develop their capacity for innovation and to have a support platform for the strengthening of their existing value chains and the development of new industrial value chains, through intersectoral and regional innovation and support services within the cluster.
The basic consortium of the project is composed of 9 Clusters, 1 RTO and 1 Association of 9 regions and 7 European countries representing more than 500 SMEs. The project aims to develop a management structure, methodologies and strategies, including direct financial support to SMEs, additional services to support companies and access to new investments.
